　　Birds of paradise are one of David Attenborough's lifelong passions. He was the first to film many of their beautiful and often bizarre displays, and over his lifetime he has tracked them all over the jungles of New Guinea. In this very personal film, he uncovers the remarkable story of how these 'birds from paradise' have captivated explorers, naturalists, artists, film-makers and even royalty. He explores the myths surrounding their discovery 500 years ago, the latest extraordinary behaviour captured on camera and reveals the scientific truth behind their beauty: the evolution of their spectacular appearance has in fact been driven by sex.
　　And in a final contemporary twist to this story of obsession and royalty, he travels to the desert of Qatar, to a state-of-the-art facility which houses the largest breeding group of these birds in the world - a sheikh's very own private collection. There he has his closest ever encounter with a greater bird of paradise and its dramatic display, reliving the experience that captivated him in the forests of New Guinea more than 50 years ago.

This documentary follows internationally acclaimed former Royal Ballet dancer Deborah Bull as she enters the world of the Bolshoi ballet, to look at how and why the Bolshoi is an internationally renowned, world class company. Deborah explores what makes it so special different from other great ballet companies and finds out what it really takes to become a Bolshoi dancer. At the heart of this film are six archive Bolshoi Ballet recordings, never before seen outside of Russia. Deborah speaks to British dancers and journalists who recount the impact the Bolshoi has had over the last 50 years, before travelling to Moscow. There, she examines how Bolshoi dancers dont just perform to achieve the highest artistic goals for the company and for ballet, but also for Russia itself. They carry with them a rich seam of history and tradition passed down through generations and embody the very essence of the Russian soul and identity.

　　《典故里的科学》 第2集 谁能做到百步穿杨
　　本集主要内容： 春秋战国时期的“神箭手”养由基被奉为“百步穿杨”的鼻祖，但是他当年百步射箭的距离不是我们现在说的100步，而是184.8米。通过实验发现，利用传统弓箭进行“百步穿杨”理论上可行，但实地测试时因人而异。

　　本集主要内容： 从古至今，吃荔枝吃到极致的非杨贵妃莫属。为了吃到一口地道新鲜的荔枝，皇帝命人专门修了一条横跨千里的荔枝道。专人专道、快马加鞭、日夜不休地运送荔枝，以满足美人的口腹之欲。张洋实地探察当年荔枝道的险峻环境，并对古今名马做了细致对比，通过查阅古籍，用古人发明的保鲜方式进行了封存荔枝的实验，一场和时间赛跑的实验，差一个环节都会功亏一篑。

　　本集主要内容： “司马光砸缸”在中国大家都非常了解。在慌乱而紧急的情况下，需要迅速砸破水缸对于一个7岁的小孩而言，其成功的可能令人存疑。回到千年之前的宋朝，本期节目从“器物、技术、物理”三个角度对司马光砸缸的故事进行了探究与还原。
　　《典故里的科学》 第5集 凿壁和囊萤的光真的能看书吗
　　本集主要内容： 大多数孩子都有一个“公敌”叫：“别人家的孩子”。典故里《凿壁偷光》《囊萤夜读》的主角匡衡和车胤便是古代的“别人家的孩子”，他们是一代代有志学子学习的榜样。让我们跟随张洋的步伐，一起去探究凿壁偷来的光和囊萤得到的光，是否真的能照亮书上的字。
